THE MOVIE THREAD
This is a welcome to the movies area. Please discuss and bicker about any movies here. New, old, doesn't matter!
Re: THE MOVIE THREAD
Went out this weekend and saw Underworld: Awakening, I gotta say it awesome and left a lot intrigue as to whether more films of this saga would continue and if there I look to seeing them
Re: THE MOVIE THREAD
Need to go see Woman in Black this week.

Nolan and Batman = Nothing better. The Dark Knight Rises is gonna be awesome. Thing is I feel they can do more if the ending is right, I just don't want this new outlook on Batman to end anytime soon.

Unfortunately it appears this will be the last one
Apparently The Joker was supposed to be the main villain once again, but obviously Heath Ledger unfortunately passed and no one else will EVER be able to do that character justice. I thought no one would ever play a better Joker than Jack Nicholson did in the 1989 Batman, but Ledger completely smashed it out the park.

I was literally blown away on how well Ledger captured the raw insanity and brilliance that Joker when planning to kill The Batman. I would've loved to see him as a villain again. Though looking at his villains a great choice aside from Bane and Catwoman I believe a new Riddler or having Harley Quinn come out from the shadows and try to show the world her love for Joker by killing The Batman would've been EPIC.

I was actually disappointed when they announced it was Bane. I don't think that he was the best choice. There were so many other great villans that could have done a lot better than Bane.

Indeed, but such is the movie biz and we can only hope it will do The Batman/Nolan saga justice

Initially I was disappointed to hear Bane was the villain. But I thought it would be interesting to see a different dimension to the character, because in the games and comics he is just a muscled up monster who doesn't really speak and just crushes everything without really have any motive for it. But he speaks alot in this movie, and is much more human like. If the character turns out to be shit, I'll buy you a cyber pint

I'll hold you to that
Re: THE MOVIE THREAD
I had the same reservations when I heard about Bane and Catwoman but I'll reserve judgement, as the first two films were so good. Plus I like Tom Hardy as an actor.
Ledger will be an extremely hard act to follow though, that had a lot to do with the last films ridiculously high box office numbers!
It's the joint top film I'm looking forward to this year, along with Prometheus!
Off Batman topic, why am I torturing myself by watching Ghost Rider?

Kind of, I don't think it's a direct prequal but it's set in the same Universe and is directed by Ridley Scott.
I can't help it, it's like when you find it hard not to look at a car crash! You can't do it.

Thought so. I heard Scott's also doing a Blade Runner 2, which I'm not sure whether I'm pleased about seeing as the first one is one of my favourite films ever, and sequels are more often than not extremely shite!
